Cookie Notice
Last updated: June 2026
INTERIM — PENDING LEGAL REVIEW. This interim notice describes the cookies and browser storage the JAWN application uses. A full, reviewed version will follow.
The short version
JAWN uses only a small number of strictly necessary cookies and stores a little non-identifying information in your browser to keep you signed in and to run the app. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, behavioral-tracking cookies, or third-party analytics that profile you.
What we use
- Sign-in session (necessary). When you log in, we set a secure, http-only session cookie so the app knows you are signed in. It is needed for the app to work. It lasts up to 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Sign-up verification (necessary, temporary). During account creation we briefly store a short-lived value (about 15 minutes) to carry your email through the verification step. It expires on its own shortly after sign-up.
- App state (browser storage, non-identifying). While an analysis is running, the app keeps a small piece of state in your browser's local storage (such as the current session's identifier and label) so the experience continues smoothly if you navigate around. This is not personal profiling data and is not shared with anyone.
What we don't use
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising or marketing cookies, retargeting pixels, session-replay tools, or third-party behavioral trackers in the JAWN application.
Managing cookies
The sign-in and verification cookies are necessary for the app to function; blocking them will prevent you from logging in or completing sign-up. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings, which will sign you out.
Changes
This is an interim notice and will be replaced by a complete, reviewed version. Material changes will update the date above.
